-What got you into radio? I grew up listening to old radio serials like The Phantom and The Whistler. Ever since then I’ve been hooked on the magic of radio. Alice Cooper is the one who really cemented my desire to be on air. We used to sit around our fire pit and listen to Nights with Alice Cooper, and I thought, “hey, that’s a pretty kickass gig, and I’m at least as qualified as Alice Cooper!”
-What was/is your all time favorite toy? My hockey stick. I still buy new ones pretty regularly.
-Do you have any cool talents/skills? I’m ambidextrous, which is really just a fancy way of saying my hand writing is equally bad with both hands. I also mix a mean cocktail.
-Who is your favorite sports team(s)? The Anaheim Ducks. Been a fan since 1993. I picked them when I was a kid because of their logo and stuck around ever since. I never miss a game. Before anyone suggests it, I hate those stupid movies with Emilio Estevez.
-If you won a million dollars, what would be the first thing you would buy? Probably something really trivial like a soda or gasoline. I’m not prone to frivolity and it’s really hard to imagine what I would do with the money. I do need a new crock pot with a locking lid though, so maybe a new crock pot. I lead an exciting life.
-What is your favorite movie of all time? Donnie Darko for it’s killer soundtrack or You’re Next for flipping the slasher genre on it’s head. I’m a huge horror movie buff. Honorable mentions include: The Sacrament, The House Of The Devil and The Ruins.
-If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, what would it be?Tony Hawk’s Underground 2. I’ve probably logged well over 1000 hours of gameplay time. It’s the reason I still have my original xbox.
-Who is your celebrity crush? Does Rudy count as a celebrity? Kidding. Either Emily Deschanel of Bones fame or Jennifer Lawrence of Jennifer Lawrence fame.
-What is your biggest fear? Small spaces. The Descent and As Above So Below are the two scariest movies I’ve ever watched as a result,
-If you could see any band perform live (living or dead) who would it be? The Doors in a hot minute. I think Jim Morrison is just about the best frontman ever.
-What is your biggest pet peeve? The sound of people eating drives me absolutely insane, especially chips and carrots. If their mouths are open while they eat, it’s even worse.
-What’s your favorite drink at the bar? My favorite beer is Pabst Blue Ribbon, and my favorite liquor is Evan Williams Black Label. I love Boilermakers!
-Do you have any pets? I have two cats named Yana and Moose and two fish who’s names I can’t remember. It’s kind of messed up, because I’ve had them for about three years and I just call them fishies. Hopefully they don’t read this and get their feelings hurt.
-What was your first concert? Ozzfest 2006. It was cool, but my second concert was a week later and way cooler. My second concert was Rob Zombie. From that experience, I was hooked on attending concerts and have probably been to about 150 so far.
-What is your favorite food? Mexican food all day every day! Unfortunately my girlfriend doesn’t share my love of Mexican food, so it’s a rare treat!
-Do you have any cool tattoos or piercings? Yeah, I have a sweet dragon on my back, but the artist used invisible ink. 🙁 No, I don’t have any tattoos or piercings, too many ideas to narrow down.
-What was the biggest fad you got into? Furby. I had a special edition Gremlins Furby. Also I’m pretty sure those things are made by Satan. They look really cool when you put them in the microwave though.
-If you could hop into the DeLorean and travel back/forwarded to anytime/place. . . where/when/why? Back to 1985 to the Universal Studios to stop that awful movie from being made!
Name: Drez Air Time: Weekdays from 3pm ’til 7pm (Be sure to listen in at 5 for Road Rage) Home Town: King George, VA
-What got you into radio? Well, I decided I wanted a career in radio back when I was in 7th grade. That is when this new morning show started on DC101 called Elliot in the Morning. Every morning I would listen to them religiously, it just seemed like they always had a fun time. Plus I was getting big into music around this time, so I figured if I could get paid to sit around and talk/listen to music then I wouldn’t have to “work” a day in my life.
-What was/is your all time favorite toy? Wow! I have had so many awesome toys over the years: Nintendo, Furby, Micro Machines, Tamagotchi, Pogs and so many more. But if I had to choose one, it would be My Pal 2. For those of you who have no clue, My Pal was a little robot toy that could talk and play games with you. I spent so many hours of my childhood playing with that thing . . . good times!
-Do you have any cool talents/skills? There are way too many to list, I am the coolest most talented person you will ever meet. Don’t even get me started on my mad Skillz! Hahaha
-Who is your favorite sports team(s)? H-O-K-I-E-S. . . HOKIES! Duh.
-If you won a million dollars, what would be the first thing you would buy? First thing I would buy is a used DeLorean! I would then end up crashing that into a tree . . . and then buying another used DeLorean!
-What is your favorite movie of all time? I do not think I could pick just one. Shoot, my top ten favorite list has about 100 movies in it, Haha. But obviously Pulp Fiction is up there. Sin City is too. My DVD collection is well over 4 digits so you can see why this is difficult to answer.
-If you could only play one video game for the rest of your life, what would it be? Well, my gut instinct is to say Tetris, as it is my favorite. But it may get pretty old if it was the ONLY game I could play. So I may go with GTA 3, it is so easy to spend hours going on those rampages trying to get 5 stars before dying!
-Who is your celebrity crush? Gotta be Carmen Electra. I have had a thing for her for quite sometime now. Soooooo hot. . . want to touch the hiney.
-What is your biggest fear? Nothing. I am fearless! (Actually, there is one thing: Goldfish. -editor)
-If you could see any band perform live (living or dead) who would it be? I’m gonna have to go with Nirvana, unfortunately . . . it will never happen.
-What is your biggest pet peeve? Right now, people who TXT while driving. Stupid.
-What’s your favorite drink at the bar? Hmmmmmm, too many to name. But I do love a good White Russian, Dude.
-Do you have any pets? Not currently. But in the past I have had tons: Cats, Hampsters, Snakes, Chinchillas, Turtles, Hermit Crabs, Lizards, and some Fish. But my goal is to own a pet Sloth, that would be pretty freakin’ sweet.
-What was your first concert? In 6th grade I got to go see Weird Al Yankovich at Kings Dominion for my birthday. I was a huge fan at the time, still am, and the show was awesome!
-What is your favorite food? MMMMMMM . . .Bacon. Everything is better with Bacon. Bacon Strips! Bacon Strips! Bacon Strips!
-Do you have any cool tattoos or piercings? No sir. My momma would cry if I did that to my body, or so she says. Perhaps one of these days I will get some ink once I think of something I really would want on me forever.
-What was the biggest fad you got into? Normally, I am the first one to crap on the bandwagon and make fun of people who buy into fads. That being sad, I must admit, I def wore some crazy big jeans back in the day, Jnco and Kikwear jams. I had the Buddas, the Skunks, I even had one pair of jeans with 69” cuffs at the bottom and a sweet dragon on the leg. Man, I was too cool for school! Haha
-If you could hop into the DeLorean and travel back/forwarded to anytime/place . . . where/when/why? Well, it would be to pretty cool to jump ahead a few hundred years to see how the world looks, see if we ever get those damn flying cars you always see in futuristic movies. However, at the rate we are going, the future doesn’t seem like it will be too appealing. So I would have to go back in time, prolly to 1968 or so. That way I can check out the peak of the 60’s party scene and see if really was as awesome as those dirty old hippies say it was.
